Caroline Fornshell is the visionary founder and CEO of LWell—short for "Longevity Wellness." Her inspiration to create LWell was deeply personal and profoundly professional. Growing up, she witnessed the challenges her godmother faced living with Type 1 diabetes, particularly the intimidating routine of injections. Later, during clinical rotations at Johns Hopkins, she was struck by a staggering statistic: 75% of hospitalized patients had diabetes, and 90% of those cases were preventable. This realization ignited her mission—to help people live longer, healthier lives.

Since its founding in 2013, LWell has been a leader in functional medicine, weight loss, and nutrition—always prioritizing root-cause healing over symptom management. Every patient journey begins with a comprehensive evaluation of lifestyle and health factors including stress, sleep, nutrition, fitness, microbiome health, metabolic function, support systems, and individual belief systems. At its core, LWell is committed to honoring the whole person—not just the patient—and integrating personalized care with respect for all.

Today, LWell's interdisciplinary team of nearly 50 providers delivers full-spectrum lifestyle and medical nutrition therapy, addressing a wide range of conditions from menopause and eating disorders to kidney disease and sustainable weight loss. Their services are largely insurance-covered and include access to four nurse practitioners and a medical doctor for prescription support when needed. With over 90% of care delivered via telehealth, LWell currently operates across 13 states and continues to grow.

Outside of her professional life, Caroline is a proud mother of three and wife to Jon Fornshell. A lifelong adventurer, she is currently embracing the thrill of stand-up paddleboarding and windsurfing—living proof of the vitality she helps others achieve.
